MANILA – PLDT seeks to etch its name in Premier Volleyball League (PVL) history when it battles Chery Tiggo in the winner-take-all final of the PVL on Tour at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Sunday.
Bannered by Savi Davison, the High Speed Hitters take on the formidable Crossovers at 6:30 p.m.
Organized by Sports Vision, the PVL On Tour is a pre-season tournament held in various provinces in a span of two months.
Also expected to shine for PLDT are veteran playmaker Kim Fajardo, Angge Alcantara, Kim Dy, Jovie Prado, middle blockers Mika Reyes and Majoy Baron, and skipper Kathleen Arado.
“Since after the preliminaries, our only focus is on one game at a time. We still need to improve and work hard," PLDT coach Rald Ricafort said Saturday.
Chery Tiggo is looking for another crown after claiming the 2021 PVL Open Conference title over Creamline.
Leading the Crossovers are veterans Cess Robles, Ara Galang, Imee Hernandez and rookie Renee Peñafiel.
“Pressure is given, but as much as possible, we wouldn’t want that pressure to sit in. I always remind them to stay calm, have a relaxed mind. It's hard to play with overwhelming thoughts,” Chery Tiggo coach Norman Miguel said. (PNA)
